Current State of Affairs Regarding Vector Storm

Hello, and welcome back! This post is to inform everyone about how our game, Vector Storm, is progressing.

The arrival of an inevitability is finally occurred. All three members of DBZ Studios are off to college. This is going to seriously impede development, but we will have periodic communication.

The current plan is to transcribe our current build of Level 1 from Basic to C++, a task that will be undertaken by our media manager, Abdi.

Below is a video showing how quickly things are moving along:

We’ve chosen to switch over to C++ for a number of reasons: (a) C++ is generally a more powerful language, (b) openFrameworks, libraries for C++ visualization, are more supported due to their open-source nature, and (c) C++ is more within our group’s general knowledge.

As for now, all three of us are in the process of moving into college. Our primary programmer, Charles, will be moving to northern Minnesota. Danh will be attending college in the Twin Cites, while Abdi moves out to the east coast. As mentioned, Abdi will be tasked at transcribing the code, with Charles providing occasional insight and instruction.

Until our next post (which will be from a college dorm!), stay updated!
